PRIVACY POLICY
The Laboratory of Archaeometry and Physicochemical Measurements of the Athena Research Center for Innovation in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies processes data in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679), safeguarding the security, integrity, and confidentiality of any personal data it receives in the course of communication and collaboration with interested parties.
Personal data are provided to the Laboratory solely at the initiative of the data subjects, for example by sending an email to apmlab@athenarc.gr to express an interest in collaboration, request services, or make another enquiry.
The controller of the personal data is the Athena Research Center, a private-law legal entity, at 6 Artemidos and Epidavrou Streets, 15125 Marousi, Athens, Greece.

The Laboratory may receive limited personal data exclusively through direct communication initiated by interested parties, including:

These data are collected exclusively through communication or collaboration with the Laboratory.

- communication with interested parties and collaborators,
- management of requests and provision of services,
- administrative and scientific collaboration.

The Laboratory is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of the data. The data:

- may be disclosed to our employees, officers, professional advisers, representatives, suppliers, or subcontractors, where required for the purposes stated in this Policy,

- may be disclosed only where required by law or a competent authority, or in connection with any current or future legal proceedings for the purpose of establishing, exercising, or defending our legal rights.

Data are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to the extent required by law, including where the data may be relevant to ongoing legal proceedings for the purpose of establishing, exercising, or defending our legal rights.
6. Rights of Data Subjects
Interested parties and collaborators have the right to:
- access their personal data,
- rectify or update their personal data,
- restrict processing, where applicable,
- request removal, provided that no legal retention obligation applies,
- data portability, allowing them to receive their data in electronic form and transmit them to a third party,
- object to the processing of their personal data by withdrawing their consent, where consent was required. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn, unless compelling legitimate grounds for processing override their interests, rights, and freedoms.
Requests are handled following communication with the Laboratory.
The Athena Research Center reserves the right to establish a policy for charging a reasonable administrative fee for handling the above requests.
7. Data Security
The Laboratory implements appropriate measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration.
8. Amendments
This Policy may be amended, and any change will be published on the website.
9. Right to Lodge a Complaint
