The objective of the STACHEM project is to contribute to the development of a regional strategic plan for research infrastructures dedicated to archaeological sciences and digital cultural heritage in the Eastern Mediterranean. At the same time, it supports and complements the planning and development of STARC, ensuring that STARC is incorporated into this strategy, closely adapted to regional needs, and integrated into the Euro-Mediterranean environment of archaeological sciences and digital cultural heritage.

The STACHEM project focused on the following areas:

• Natural-science and materials-science approaches for the study of archaeological finds and sites
• Technologies and infrastructures for underwater archaeology
• Applications of information and communication technologies in cultural heritage
