Βιογραφικό

Ο Νικόλαος Καζάκης έλαβε το δίπλωμα του Χημικού Μηχανικού (με Άριστα) το 2003 από το Τμήμα Χημικών Μηχανικών του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης. Από το ίδιο Τμήμα, το 2008 έλαβε με άριστα το πρώτο διδακτορικό του δίπλωμα στη Χημική Μηχανική με αντικείμενο τη «Μελέτη στήλης φυσαλίδων με πορώδη κατανομέα της αέριας φάσης». Μετά την εκπλήρωση των στρατιωτικών του υποχρεώσεων, το 2009, εργάστηκε ως μεταδιδακτορικός ερευνητής στο Τμήμα Χημείας του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης για περίπου ένα έτος. Από το 2010 έως τις αρχές του 2019 εργάστηκε ως επιστημονικός συνεργάτης στο Εργαστήριο Αρχαιομετρίας και Φυσικοχημικών Μετρήσεων του Ερευνητικού Κέντρου Αθηνά, ενώ παράλληλα εργάστηκε για τέσσερα περίπου έτη και ως εξωτερικός συνεργάτης στη Μονάδα Διασφάλισης Ποιότητας (ΜΟ.ΔΙ.Π.) του Δημοκριτείου Πανεπιστημίου Θράκης. Το 2018 έλαβε με άριστα το δεύτερο διδακτορικό του δίπλωμα στη Φυσική από το Τμήμα Φυσικής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης με αντικείμενο τη «Δοσιμετρία υψηλών δόσεων με έμφαση στη βιομηχανική αποστείρωση και δοσιμετρία ατυχημάτων ακτινοβολίας».

Το Μάρτιο του 2019 ανέλαβε τη θέση του Κύριου Ερευνητή (Ερευνητής Β’) με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Δοσιμετρία και αναλυτικές μέθοδοι ακτινοβολιών» στο Ε.Κ. Αθηνά στην Ξάνθη και το Δεκέμβριο του 2025 εξελίχθηκε σε Διευθυντή Ερευνών (Ερευνητής Α’) με το ίδιο γνωστικό αντικείμενο.

Η ερευνητική του δραστηριότητα είναι κυρίως εργαστηριακή. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν: Αρχαιομετρία, έρευνα στη μετα-αποστειρωτική και εγκληματολογική δοσιμετρία και στη δοσιμετρία περιβάλλοντος, ατυχημάτων και διαστήματος, φυσικοχημικές και φωταυγειακές μετρήσεις υλικών με τη χρήση προηγμένων διαγνωστικών και αναλυτικών μεθόδων με (και χωρίς) χρήση ακτινοβολιών, καλλιέργεια μικροφυκών με ή χωρίς τη χρήση τεχνητής νοημοσύνης για την εκμετάλλευσή τους σε ποικίλες εφαρμογές και για πράσινη ανάπτυξη, φυσικοχημικές και ραδιολογικές μετρήσεις υλικών στον τομέα της αγροδιατροφής, ευφυή γεωργία, ανάλυση, προσομοίωση και σχεδιασμό φυσικοχημικών διεργασιών με έμφαση στη διφασική ροή αερίου/υγρού (στήλη φυσαλίδων και παραγωγή μικρο-φυσαλίδων).

Έχει περισσότερες από 80 δημοσιεύσεις σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά με κριτές και συνέδρια με δημοσιευμένα πρακτικά. Το δημοσιευμένο έργο του περιλαμβάνει επίσης 3 διατριβές, 3 κεφάλαια σε βιβλία και έναν αριθμό από άρθρα σε ηλεκτρονικά περιοδικά και περιοδικά κοινού ενδιαφέροντος. Το έργο του έχει περισσότερες από 1300 αναφορές (h-index 14). Από το 2004 συμμετέχει ενεργά στη συγγραφή, υποβολή, υλοποίηση και επίβλεψη ερευνητικών έργων, χρηματοδοτούμενα τόσο από εθνικούς όσο και από Ευρωπαϊκούς πόρους. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε πλήθος από εθνικά, ευρωπαϊκά και διασυνοριακά έργα, είτε ως επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος/αναπληρωτής επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος είτε ως μέλος της Ομάδας έργου, καθώς και σε ιδιωτικά έργα/παροχής υπηρεσιών.

Ταυτόχρονα, δρα και ως αξιολογητής άρθρων σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά στο πεδίο της φυσικής, δοσιμετρίας, αρχαιομετρίας, προστασίας του περιβάλλοντος, χημικής μηχανικής και στατιστικής ιατρικής και είναι μέλος του Μητρώου Πιστοποιημένων Αξιολογητών της Γενικής Γραμματείας Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (ΓΓΕΚ) και του Ιδρύματος Κρατικών Υποτροφιών (ΙΚΥ). Έχει επιβλέψει πρακτικές εργασίες φοιτητών, καθώς και διπλωματικές/μεταπτυχιακές εργασίες φοιτητών και μεταδιδάκτορες στο πλαίσιο υλοποίησης ερευνητικών έργων, ενώ έχει προσφέρει και διδακτικό έργο. Είναι μέλος του EURADOS, της IEEE, της Ελληνικής Εταιρίας Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης, της Ελληνικής Αρχαιομετρικής Εταιρείας, του Πανελλήνιου Συλλόγου Χημικών Μηχανικών (ΠΣΧΜ), του Τεχνικού Επιμελητηρίου Ελλάδος (ΤΕΕ), της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Ερευνητών και του Συλλόγου Ερευνητών του Ε.Κ. Αθηνά.
